Upcoming: Expand Your OT Data Reach with MDB 2.4

Coming end of March, Matrikon Data Broker (MDB) version 2.4 will enable users to access historical data as well as real-time OPC UA data sources across OT network firewalls (without opening inbound ports) using Reverse Connect.

MDB 2.4 will also better support 3rd party OPC UA clients with limitations in their OPC UA implementations, which until now, prevented them from being able to work with data from various federated data sources.   Two examples of this include:

    • UA source array elements to individual item conversion, enabling UA clients, which only support individual UA items, to access desired array elements as individual items.
    • Configurable static namespace support, which can be activated to allow UA clients that do not support situations where federated UA servers’ namespace identifiers change over time.

    Administrators will appreciate:

    • the security enhancements put into MDB 2.4 to maximize its stability and data availability.
    • based on user feedback, MDB 2.4 administrators will also get improved licensing reporting, to make it even easier to review and manage specific platform features and the licenses that control them; making it easer than even to setup MDB exactly as needed.
    • The ability to publish historical data over MQTT spanning more than 24 hours into Microsoft Azure and optionally into other 3rd party clouds.
