The OPC Foundation participated in a number of recent conferences and exhibitions including the ARC Forum Europe, E-World, and Embedded World.
ARC Industry Forum Europe
The OPC Foundation was represented at ARC Industry Forum Europe 2015, European Industry in Transition: The Information Driven Enterprise in a Connected World. The forum was held on March 4 and 5, 2015 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Peter Seeberg, Member of OPC Europe Advisory Council, represented the OPC Foundation in the Plenary Workshop on Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT (IIoT), Big Data, Analytics, and the Cloud, moderated by David Humphrey of ARC.
E-World Energy & Water
E-World Energy & Water is the most important European event in the energy industry. It was held February 10 through 12. The greatest interest among the visitors was about the fields of energy trading, renewable energies, energy efficiency, and smart metering. OPC Foundation was exhibiting with sponsors ICONICS, Unified Automation. Siemens, and Beckhoff. A demonstration of the power measurement scenario with modelling of smart sensor and integrated, secured OPC UA connectivity.
Embedded World
Embedded World was held from February 24 through 26. Embedded World is where the embedded community comes together: As the world’s largest trade fair of its kind, embedded world is a must for everyone concerned with the development, purchasing, procurement, and application of embedded technologies in the areas of hardware, software, tools, and services.
OPC Foundation was presenting on its own booth in Hall 5 in the middle of the M2M area. Sponsors MatrikonOPC, Softing, and Unified Automation showed their products and how devices and services can exchange data and information based on OPC UA technology. Two OPC UA presentations were featured in the conference: Stefan Hoppe, Vice President OPC Foundation, introduced OPC UA as the solution for Industry 4.0 and IoT and Cristian Pogacean from Softing presented a deeper dive about OPC UA in Practice. After the fully packed presentations most of the 100+ attendees visited the OPC booth to get the brochure and learn about getting started with OPC UA
