OPC Foundation Interoperability Workshops 2025: Test your Products

OPC Foundation Interoperability Workshops 2025: Test your Products

As we approach the new year, we are happy to announce the upcoming Interoperability (IOP) Workshops for 2025. These events are an important opportunity for testing OPC products for interoperability before bringing them to market or during their maintenance phase.

    IOP Workshop North America

Date: Week of March 17, 2025
Location: Schneider Electric R&D Center, Andover, Massachusetts, USA

This year’s North America IOP Workshop marks an important milestone as it will be the first to include OPC UA FX product testing, alongside the standard OPC UA testing. Registration for this event is already open, and we encourage you to secure your spot early.

For more details and registration, visit the North America IOP Workshop page.

    IOP Workshop Japan

    Date: June 18 – 20, 2025
Location: Tokyo, Japan (Exact location to be confirmed early 2025)

The IOP Workshop usually takes place in the TIME24 building but is not yet confirmed. Early in 2025 we expect the date and location to be confirmed. When the tentative date and location has been confirmed, the registration for the event will be opened.

    IOP Workshop Europe

    Date: November 10, 2025
Location: Nuremberg, Germany (Exact location to be confirmed in January 2025)

The IOP Workshop will take place in Nuremberg, either at the Siemens facility or a meeting center close to the main train station. This timing avoids major trade shows, ensuring a more relaxed hotel situation. Registration is also open for this event.

    Why Attend?

The IOP Workshops are essential for vendors to test and debug their products against others, ensuring interoperability. These events offer a unique opportunity to network with peers, learn about the latest OPC technology, and interact with industry experts. Regular attendees, including major automation vendors and IT companies, find immense value in these workshops, with 89% recurring attendance.

    New Features and Testing

The workshops will focus on new features such as enhanced certificate management using GDS Push and Pull, and PubSub via UDP and MQTT. These features are increasingly required by products and will be thoroughly tested during the workshops.

    Management Outline

To assist with travel approval, the IOP Task Force has prepared a management outline, detailing the benefits of attending the workshops. This document highlights the importance of these events in maintaining product quality and staying updated with industry trends. Please send a mail to iop@opcfoundation.org to get a copy of the document.

    Registration Reminder

Please remember to book your IOP Workshop transportation and hotels in advance to ensure your participation. Last-minute registrations may not be accommodated, so early registration is highly recommended.
