New Release, New CEO for ICONICS

    ICONICS has recently appointed Edward (“Ted”) Hill as the company’s new President and CEO. Hill replaces Yuji Ichioka, who served as the Interim President and CEO following the November 2020 retirement of the company’s founder, Russ Agrusa.

      Just in time for the summer (and hopefully a steady return of some pre-COVID normalcy), we are glad to share with you the next batch of quarterly Matrikon news, product updates, and new releases.

      President’s Welcome – March 2021

        Welcome to OPC Connect in 2021. While we could talk plenty about our past activities, even more exciting are our future efforts. To start, learn how we are working to help users avoid ‘cloud vendor lock-in’. Furthermore, later this year, we plan to release an IIoT Starter Kit. Four big virtual events are planned over the coming months including an OPC Day and a first-ever virtual InterOP. Thank you for reading, and we look forward to working together this year!

        Compliance Corner – March 2021

          The OPC Foundation has been aggressively working on enhancing its certification program. A big release of the Compliance Test Tool (CTT) is planned for the end of March. This release will include Alarm & Condition (A&C) testing as a brand new feature.

          Regional Report Japan – March 2021

            The OPC Foundation Japan Council (OPC-J) held its first online OPC-Day Japan on December 10-11, 2020. The registered participants reached 690. This is 3.5 times more than the previous year.

            Regional Report China – March 2021

              The first seminar of the year took place in Guangzhou and the event was overcrowded with attendees. Also, a deepened cooperation has been initiated between OPC Foundation China and SUPCON, one of China’s leading automation component providers in the process industry.

              Making Local Data Accessible Globally Using Cloud Solutions

                Intelligent Mud Solutions AS of Norway (IMS) provides continuous real-time analysis of drilling fluids primarily for the oil and gas industry. For IMS customers who do not have access to the OPC UA server locally, PROSYS implemented a solution for publishing OPC UA values to Microsoft Azure and visualizing the data with Power Bi.

The OPC UA standards are designed to meet these security requirements while maintaining the level of flexibility and control that site administrators expect.
