The WAGO I/O System Field is equipped with an OPC UA server, allowing OPC UA clients to use standardized methods to access the widest range of device info (e.g., parameter data, status information, measured values, statistics, identification and diagnostic data), as well as containers, depending on user rights.
The technological mapping between the Industrie 4.0 Asset Administration Shell and OPC UA opens up new possibilities for smart products and data-driven services in the usage phase. The already existing digital twin is now able to function as an OPC UA Server, which easily provides further product information, methods and basic OPC UA services.
