OPC Server Integrated into ICONICS GENESIS64™ SCADA Solution

ICONICS (https://iconics.com) has announced an agreement with Takebishi Corporation (http://www.takebishi.co.jp/) to integrate the Takebishi DeviceXPlorer OPC Server with its own OPC-based automation software solutions.

Takebishi DeviceXPlorer OPC Server is an OPC server software suite that provides connectivity with control devices in manufacturing, factory, and operations environments with equipment such as PLCs, machine tools, and robots. It provides communication functions with multiple devices via a variety of network technology and helps to bridge data to various applications. Takebishi DeviceXPlorer OPC Server supports OPC UA, DA, AE, and SuiteLink Interface, and can connect to over 200 device types.

ICONICS and Takebishi Corp Japan are pleased to announce that the Takebishi DeviceXPlorer OPC Server software has been integrated into the ICONICS GENESIS64™ HMI/SCADA software suite version 10.96.2 following joint R&D activities conducted by ICONICS and Takebishi, and an OEM Agreement that permits redistribution of Takebishi OPC Servers within the ICONICS product installations. Version 10.96.2 is planned for release in Q4 2020.

This new integrated OPC server was introduced on October 15th, 2020 during ICONICS’ virtual event, “Connect 2020: Digital Transformation Solutions for a New Normal”. Features include data browsing directly from the ICONICS configuration environments, integrated licensing, integrated installation, and tools for importing existing configurations from PLCs and from OPC servers such as KEPServerEX and several others into the DeviceXPlorer OPC Server software interface. The parties plan future collaboration to streamline project development, such as the integration of the configuration environment for the Takebishi DeviceXPlorer OPC Server into the ICONICS Workbench and the ICONICS IoTWorX™ IoT software solution.

“ICONICS automation software was designed for OPC UA connectivity,” said Dave Oravetz, Vice President of Engineering of ICONICS. “With that in mind, our solutions such as our flagship HMI/SCADA and building automation suite, GENESIS64, require an OPC Server that provides state-of-the-art functionality. Takebishi is a great and trusted partner, with extensive device connectivity. ICONICS looks forward to building our relationship with Takebishi for the benefit of our mutual customers.”

“We are pleased about the integration of GENESIS64 and Takebishi DeviceXPlorer OPC Server,” said Hiroshi Okagaki, Director at Takebishi Corp., “so that this integration provides consistent operability for our customers, also realizes seamless collaboration between both products.”
