Welcome to the June 2016 edition of the OPC Connect newsletter! This edition of the newsletter features many exciting announcements from our sponsors, the OPC community and the OPC Foundation itself. Many significant things have happened since the March edition of our newsletter from a marketing, technical and organizational perspective.
There were two main takeaways from this year’s Hannover Fair: one, the omnipresence of OPC UA on many of the booths; and two, the collaborations signed with many different organizations. It seemed like everywhere you looked at the Hannover Fair, there was and OPC logo. On the collaboration front, the OPC Foundation has been busy solidifying OPC UA as the networking standard for Industrie 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things.
It’s an exciting time of year for the OPC Foundation as many events across the globe are gearing up. From a seminar tour in North America to workshops across Europe, there are ample opportunities to meet with OPC Foundation members and experts. These span not only continents but industries as well including dedicated events for track-and-trace, packaging, enterprise/IT, and of course automation.
Join us at one of six events that will be held this autumn across North America. These seminars will focus on the rich feature set of OPC UA and the unique ways these features are put to use in real applications.
The OPC Foundation has attended or hosted a number of events recently: Exhibiting in the OPC Foundation booth at Hanover Fair, Exhibiting in the Microsoft booth at Hanover Fair, Conducting a press conference at Hanover Fair, Hosting an OPC Day in Europe, and Conducting an Interop in Phoenix, Arizona.
Future OPC Foundation events include Hanover Fair, an OPC Interoperability Workshop in North America, and OPC Day Europe. In addition, OPC Foundation member Grid Cloud Systems, Inc. is sponsoring an OpenOpcUa event.
The OPC Foundation conducts and attends several events throughout the year that showcase OPC technology and its member’s solutions. See what’s coming up next and what you may have missed.
