India continues to accelerate its journey toward digital transformation and smart manufacturing, creating new opportunities for collaboration across industry, academia, and government. To support this momentum, the OPC Foundation together with the OPC Hub India will conduct a series of high-profile activities in Bengaluru this July, highlighting the role of OPC UA as the foundation for secure, interoperable industrial digitalization.
OPC Day India – July 7, 2026
The roadshow begins with OPC Day India on July 7, 2026, hosted at the BMS Campus in Bengaluru. Organized by OPC Hub India under the leadership of M.R. Subramanya (“Subs”), the event brings together technology leaders, manufacturers, academics, policymakers, and students to explore the future of smart manufacturing in India.
Under the theme “Bridging Industry, Academia, and Policymakers for Smart Manufacturing”, the event will focus on fostering collaboration across the industrial ecosystem and demonstrating how open standards such as OPC UA enable scalable and sustainable digital transformation.

The day will open with keynote presentations from industry and government representatives, including Dr. Nagahanumaiah, Director – Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI), Government of India. Discussions will address India’s vision for industrial growth, Industry 4.0 initiatives, and the critical importance of interoperability in modern manufacturing environments.
OPC Foundation President Stefan Hoppe continued personal engagement reflects the strategic importance of India within the worldwide OPC ecosystem and provides attendees with first-hand insights into emerging trends about “OPC UA: The Foundation for Industrial Digitalization”, highlighting the evolution of OPC UA from a connectivity standard to the globally recognized foundation for industrial digitalization. Stefan’s keynote will demonstrate how secure and semantic interoperability enables digital twins, industrial AI, trusted data spaces, and connected value chains across manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, and process industries. Drawing on global success stories and emerging industry initiatives, Stefan will share how OPC UA is helping organizations transform data into business value and why it has become a key enabler for a digital, autonomous, and sustainable industrial future.
The agenda also includes industry case studies, success stories, panel discussions, and interactive sessions focused on collaboration between industry and academia. These discussions aim to strengthen the Indian ecosystem by connecting innovation, workforce development, and policy initiatives with practical industrial applications.
Discussion between OPCF and CMTI Team – July 8, 2026
Following OPC Day India, the OPC Hub India team will continue discussions with the CMTI team at their office in Bengaluru on July 8, 2026.
The meeting will focus on Smart Manufacturing in the context of the Indian ecosystem and explore how open standards, such as OPC UA, can play a more proactive role in becoming a preferred and recommended standard across the industry.
ARC Industry Forum India – July 9, 2026
Following OPC Day India, the OPC Hub India will continue the engagement at the ARC Industry Forum India in Bengaluru on July 9, 2026.
The ARC Industry Forum is recognized as one of the leading platforms for industrial leaders to discuss digitalization, automation, industrial AI, cybersecurity, and smart manufacturing strategies. Stefan’s participation underscores the growing importance of open interoperability standards as organizations seek to integrate operational technology (OT), information technology (IT), and cloud-based systems.

Through initiatives such as OPC Day – India, engagement with CMTI and participation in the ARC Industry Forum, the OPC Foundation continues to support the development of an open and interoperable industrial ecosystem that connects innovation, education, and policy.
The July roadshow demonstrates the OPC Foundation’s commitment to working closely with Indian stakeholders to accelerate Industry 4.0 adoption, foster skills development, and enable the next generation of smart manufacturing solutions powered by OPC UA.
We look forward to meeting members, partners, students, researchers, and industry leaders in Bengaluru and continuing the dialogue on the future of industrial interoperability.
OPC Hub India at AI Impact 2026: Enabling Industrial AI Through Interoperability

OPC has long been the enabler behind industrial digital transformation—establishing open, secure, and interoperable standards that allow data to flow seamlessly across systems, vendors, and technologies. In the era of Industrial AI, this role has become mission‑critical. As industries move from isolated automation toward intelligence‑driven operations, OPC UA provides the trusted, information‑rich foundation required to make AI viable, scalable, and sustainable.
Building on this, OPC Hub India played a pivotal role at the Government of India’s flagship AI Impact Event 2026, organized under the IndiaAI Mission. At the heart of the event, the Hub demonstrated why interoperability is no longer just a technical preference—it is the bedrock of the AI revolution.
Across the five‑day summit (February 16–20), OPC Hub India engaged with industry leaders, experts, technology providers, and policymakers to showcase how OPC UA as a universal and secure framework for industrial data exchange, enabling seamless connectivity from the shop floor to enterprise systems and cloud environments. Discussions highlighted reference architectures that leverage OPC UA alongside modern interfaces such as MQTT and REST, supporting scalable, AI‑ready data pipelines.
Industrial AI depends on interoperable and reliable data from field to cloud — exactly what OPC UA enables. OPC UA is not only an excellent technology but also turning into a global movement that delivers clear and easy-to-understand benefits for everyone involved: end users, integrators, and suppliers. This true win-win-win situation is key for broad acceptance. With many other technologies, the benefits are often limited to just one group, while the others mainly have to contribute without seeing the same value.
Key conversations industrial experts explored future‑ready technology, including digital twin frameworks, unified information models, and secure cloud‑native data spaces, emphasizing that successful AI adoption depends on consistent, contextual, and trustworthy data.
A Collaborative Triumph
The success of the OPC Hub India showcase was a testament to visionary leadership and deep technical excellence. Under the guidance of Rajkiran Patil, the OPC Hub India team—led by Subramanya M R and supported by Rajkiran Patil, Samrat Bhattacharjee, Manohar S, Anandi Iyer, and Nithin Shamraju—ensured the booth delivered both high‑level strategic insights and hands‑on technical clarity for diverse audiences.
Looking Ahead
As momentum from AI Impact 2026 continues to build, OPC Hub India remains at the forefront of the IndiaAI Mission. By championing open standards, interoperability‑first thinking, and collaborative ecosystem development, the Hub is not merely following the rise of intelligent industries—it is helping define the roadmap.
